Memphis 9 month session | Birmingham Area Family Photographer

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

Memphis is one of my favorite little guys. I always enjoy seeing his sweet smiling face! I can't decide which I like better of the first 2! I love how the colors pop in the first one but I'm loving the black and white too!

We made a few of the pictures in front of the very old firetruck at Gamble's Parts Dart. I love the hazy look in this one!

In all of the pictures that I've done of his precious family, Daddy has ALWAYS had on his Boston hat so we decided M needed to wear it for this session since Daddy wasn't there. ;)

These last few pictures mean the world to Mommy and they are very special to me too. On June 27th, I received a phone call from my husband that honestly still has me in disbelief to this day. It was news that Clarence, Memphis' Gandy, had been called to heaven. Clarence was one of the most amazing men that I've grown up around. He always, always put his children and grandchildren first. I was very happy when Steph pulled out his hat and glove from her bag at the first of M's shoot. If you knew Gandy, you know that when we were all growing up, you would always find him at the gym during volleyball season or at the ball park during softball season, so his glove being in these next few pictures is absolutely perfect! We will ALWAYS remember Gandy and the joy he spread to everyone while he was here on earth!

Welcome Home Bo!

Friday, May 31, 2013

About a week and a half ago I was able to shoot the homecoming of a friend. I can't say enough great things about Bo and his wife, Adrienne. They are the type of couple you just enjoy being around and the love they have for one another shows in the first few seconds you are with them. I've been photographing a lot of couples like this lately and that makes for one happy photog! It's good for the soul and it's great for my camera. ;) I've probably said this 30 times but I don't know how she did it for almost a year with 4 kids by herself. She deserves an award! haha I'm pretty sure she would tell you that just having him back and being able to be in his arms again is the best reward that either of them could have received.

The excitement in the air as all of the families waited on the buses to come pulling in was electric and I was standing with 4 kids and a gorgeous lady who just couldn't wait to get their hands on their favorite soldier.

Then they saw the buses coming in.....

And finally he was right back where he belongs, with his sweet family!
